Margo Oge, who is part of VW’s Sustainability Council and served as the director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, recently published an interesting article on Forbes explaining current developments in the US American car industry under the Trump administration.

The Trump administration announced an investigation of four car manufacturers in the US after they agreed on a deal with California to produce cars that are lower in emissions. Although their deal is perfectly legal and is a great step towards cleaner cars, improving air quality and promoting public-private partnerships, the Trump administration remains suspicious and does not approve of their deal. The anti-trust investigation can potentially harm the car industry in the long run by preventing companies to effectively establish modern technologies and find a market for new products.
