Listen up. “Regardless of what we do, we have a responsibility towards a cleaner environment. Everyone can take small or big steps …”, argues Margo T. Oge.

Knowing that the capabilities for those steps depend on various factors Ms. Oge has a point. In our first interview series in September 2018 concerning the work of the Sustainability Council and the Open Source Lab, we talked to her regarding the work of the Council and the Lab. She shares her hopeful view on the expected work of our lab that is very designerly in its approach.

“I see the project as an experiment. And very often when we do experiments, we fail. But very often, experiment after experiment, there is a huge success. That is my hope for the Open Source Lab.”

Margo T. Oge is the former Director of the Office of Transportation Air Quality of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Among others, she led the implementation of the EPA’s national greenhouse gas emission standards for cars and heavy-duty trucks and is the author of the book “Driving the Future: Combating Climate Change with Cleaner, Smarter Cars”.
