“The possibility to be mobile is a human right.” We have nothing to add to this one. Thank you Michael Sommer.

As part of our first interview series in September 2018 concerning the work of the Sustainability Council and the Open Source Lab, listen to how Mr. Sommer reasons for mobility as a human right and how he views other important aspects regarding mobility.

“I hope that we can open the discussion to people who are not normally part of the discussion, normal customers, normal commuters, and normal people who have real problems with their mobility. They want to be mobile, but they have real problems with public transport, for example. (…) We have to open our point of view also away from Europe and from the cities of Europe to other areas of the world, Sao Paolo for example.”

Michael Sommer is deputy chairman of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, member of the board of trustees of Volkswagen Stiftung and former chairman of the Confederation of German Trade Unions (DGB).
