The countdown is on: there are only a couple of days left until the global event Climathon starts. We will be participating as hosts of the challenge “Berlin on the Move – How can data help make urban mobility more sustainable?” and compete against three other amazing hosts, whose challenges focus on the reduction of waste production and resource consumption, as well as Berlin’s resilience to water-extreme events. Climathon Berlin is organized by Futurium

We are proud to announce that our challenge will be kindly supported by an API provided by Verkehrsverbund Berlin Brandenburg (VBB) and data from Tier; both companies play an important role in enabling cleaner mobility and reducing emissions. Their open data donations allow us and the participants to put ideas into practice, create a tangible project and make a contribution to the sustainable development of urbanism.

We are also looking forward to our jury members, who are representatives from DFKI GmbH, VBB, Volkswagen and Fix my Berlin.

All in all, we believe that Climathon will be the perfect event for environmentalists and techies to get together, take an out-of-the-box approach to sustainability and learn from each other.

If you would like to see what the participants came up with, you can come visit on Saturday from 5 pm, when the Futurium will be open for everyone.
